Objective : To evaluate the efficacy of Progestagen supplementation and to compare role of Natural Micronized Progesterone and Dydrogesterone in patients of recurrent abortion. Material and methods: This prospective randomized controlled study was conducted in Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, GSVM Medical College, Kanpur from December, 2006 to September, 2008. 80 patients who had a history of recurrent unexplained spontaneous abortion (> 2) and who presented with a new pregnancy to our centre were randomized in three groups. 30 patients were given Natural Micronized Progesterone, out of which 15 took orally ( 200mg 1 BD) and 15 vaginally (400 mg 1 HS ).
