Objective: To study the effectiveness of TruScreen as a screening test for carcinoma cervix. Methods: All patients invited for cervical cancer screening or attending the out-patients clinic of a single private hospital in Delhi, from May 2008 to Aug 2008, were evaluated for inclusion. Patients who were pregnant, post-hysterectomy, or with established malignancy were excluded. PAP smear, colposcopy, and TruScreen were done in all. Any suspicious lesion on colposcopy was biopsied. CIN- I, II, III, frank cancer, or positive biopsy were defined as abnormal. Gold standard for positive screening result was defined as concomitant positivity of PAP smear and colposcopy, or positive biopsy.
