Methodology : Sreening Test by glucose challenge test {GCT) done at 24 -28 weeks of gestation. Positive GCT followed by oral glucose toierance test (OGTT) and glycosylated haemoglobin.Patient with abnormal values treated with diet and exercise for two weeks by monitoring FBS.PLBS. If not controlled with in two weeks insulin (mixtard 30/70}started based on blood sugar levels. Results : Detection of GDM rural - 60%, Urban - 40%, more in second trimester, Complications - PIH - 68%, hydramnions - 4%, hyperemesis - 16%. Mode of delivery - LSCS - 80%, Vaginal delivery - 20%,Baby weight - 4kg - 14%, Fetal outcome - 40% cases admitted in NICU.
