Omphalocele or exomphalos is a defect in the ventral abdominal wall whereby the hcmiated intra-abdominal content is covered by a membrane consisting of peritoneum and amnion. Gastroschisis minor denotes a small defect in which only omcntum hcrnialcs thmugh the abdominal wall.
